New Planter Spotlight: Tony Wang

Tony Wang

The Wang Family

How have you seen God working in your life?

I was saved by God through my parents when I was a kid in China. Over the years the Lord shaped my life through the ministries of Cru, Chinese house churches, and the PCA. The Lord cultivated in my heart a deep burden for the lost and a profound commitment to the reformed faith. The longer I am in ministry the more I realize that Christ and His gospel is the only source of hope and power in all that I do.

How have you seen god working in your family?

I am thankful to the Lord for my beautiful family every day. Married for 8 years with two young children, nothing gives me more joy than seeing our family grow in Christ and serving his church together. Going through seminary years and later at a mission church is not without challenges, but his grace is truly sufficient for us. My wife is the biggest support for this church plant and we pray that the Lord will let our kids not only understand the gospel but see and experience it lived out in a church planter's home.

How have you seen god working in your church?

Even before we move out to the mission field, we have already witnessed God's work through the assembly of a number of families and the generosity of our supporters. As we are thankful for the Lord's provision, we are determined to do two things well by his grace - evangelism and discipleship. We pray this new church will not only be a blessing to the city we will be in, but also a hub to train and resource future church planters.

What is your church’s mission?

Committed to gospel centrality and missional discipleship, we desire to see individuals, families, and the community be renewed by the good news of Jesus Christ. We hope to plant a church that plants churches, we aim to make disciples that make disciples, all by God's grace.
